Let’s talk about socialization. You’ve heard it’s important and it is! The prime period of socialization for a puppy is the first three months of a puppy’s life. That’s when appropriate socialization and training should commence so that unwanted behaviors are prevented. We call early socialization and training “behavioral vaccinations.” However, it must be “appropriate” socialization, which takes careful thought and planning. A well run Puppy Class is certainly one fantastic way to help your puppy experience new environments, objects, surfaces and sounds, as well as play sessions with puppies of similar ages and play styles. This is a bit of footage of our own puppy, Cailie, at Puppy Start Right Class at Noah’s Playground in Franklin, North Carolina.
